Dental X-rays are performed using modern equipment: X-rays are generated using a modern X-ray device Acteon group Satelec X-Mind unity; it is not dental film that gets exposure, as it was done previously, but the image is transferred onto modern digital phosphorus plates, which are scanned using a special scanner and the image is transferred to a computer, where it can be manipulated. In the Amicus Dentis clinic the leading manufacturer Soredex most modern Digora Optime digital phosphorus plates and scanner are used. This equipment a provides an almost ideal image – details up to 0.06 mm are visible. 100% of plate surface is active. The image may be manipulated, measured, panned, filters may be applied, etc.; these capabilities are provided by the SOPRO computer software (more information here and here).
